Osotspa Supports Thai Farmers by Purchasing 2 Tons of Surplus Rambutan, in Line with Government Policy Driving Sustainable Economic and Social Development

Osotspa Public Company Limited has joined hands with the Thai government to support local farmers during the fruit surplus season, responding to an initiative from the Department of Internal Trade, Ministry of Commerce, by purchasing 2 tons of rambutan directly from farming communities in key production areas. This effort helps farmers earn fair income and reduces their dependence on middlemen.
On this occasion, Mr. Pratharn Chaiprasit, Senior Vice Chairman of the Executive Committee, and Ms. Wannipa Bhakdibutr, Chief Executive Officer of Osotspa Public Company Limited, represented the company in receiving the rambutan from Ms. Yanee Srimani, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Internal Trade, at Osotspa Headquarters. This event symbolizes the strong collaboration between the public and private sectors in supporting Thai farmers.
From June to September, various Thai fruits such as durian, mangosteen, rambutan, longkong, and longan were flood the market in large quantities, often leading to oversupply, falling prices, and difficulties for farmers in selling their produce. In alignment with the government’s policy to stabilize agricultural prices and minimize the impact on farmers, Osotspa has actively joined the private sector’s efforts by purchasing fruit directly from local producers. This approach contributes to creating a fair and sustainable market system in the long term.
This initiative aligns with Osotspa’s Sustainable Economic and Social Development Plan, emphasizing Creating Shared Value (CSV) and strengthening the local economy through ongoing corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts.
Osotspa remains committed to its role as a private sector leader that grows alongside Thai society, driving business growth while generating positive impacts on communities, farmers, and society as a whole—paving the way for sustainable development in all dimensions.
